I had not really thought about how it would be to be that extra person at someone else birth? Part of that journey and part of that amazing moment - especially the birth of my niece.
Well when I arrived I blended in to the background and didn't want to intrude I was giddy with excitement, it brought back all of the emotions from my two births.
I am the youngest of three girls, I am super lucky to have my sisters and it often plays on my mind that my daughter Sadie will not have the relationship that I have with my sister. Sadie has something I never had a big brother and their bond is tight and I hope that lasts a life time.
Kate is the middle sister and Beatrice is her second child. Stanley her eldest is 5 years old and was with our older sister Natalie whilst the magic was happening - completely blissfully unaware that his whole world was going to change.
Kate had been in labour all day and I arrived around 6pm ready for a long wait. When I arrived Kate was already in the second stages of labour and the midwives were certain that it would be another few hours at least.
7.01pm Beatrice arrived after a little delayed cry all was well a healthy baby girl weighing 8lb 4oz.
A few weeks after Beatrice arrived Stacey and I went back to do some new born photos of Beatrice.
We managed to snap some of Stan as well - He melts me he is so funny - He is such a great Big brother.
I am sure more posts about Baby Beatrice will follow watching her grow and change!
